Artist Statement

I’m Lauren, a 24-year-old artist based in Phoenix, Arizona. Art has been a constant throughout my life. I’ve been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember, always finding myself drawn to creating and experimenting with new ways to bring my ideas to life.

Over the years, I’ve gained experience working across a variety of mediums and techniques, which has helped shape the way I approach my work today. While I continue to appreciate the freedom that comes with experimenting, my practice is now primarily focused on oil painting.

My development as a painter was greatly influenced by the opportunity to train under a distinguished Phoenix-based painter, where I strengthened my understanding of traditional painting techniques, composition, color, and the process of developing a piece from beginning to end.

Today, I continue to build upon that foundation while developing a style that feels distinctly my own. My work is driven by curiosity, personal interests, and a lifelong love of making things—balancing the technical skills I’ve learned with the sense of experimentation that first made me fall in love with art.
